Sometime we need to run a program as administrator to be able to perform root privileged tasks. e.g. Editing the windows hosts file is only allowed to administrators. Here are quick steps to run a program as administrator on Windows 10. The same approach should also work on any other windows version.
- Search for the program in search box till it shows up in matched programs.
- When you see the program highlighted, right click on it as shown below:
- You should see a menu with one item being “Run as administrator”. Click on it to run the program (notepad in our case) as Administrator.
